Urlzen: A URL Shortener With Click Tracking

A few months ago we decided to experiment with Google App Engine. We also wanted to scratch an itch that we had. So, in the course of about 6 hours we created urlzen.com.

With more and more communication taking place in 140 characters or less, those characters are at a premium. Often times, the easiest way to communicate in such small bits it to just share a URL. The thing is, it is nice to know if people appreciate the information you share. This brings about the need for a URL shortener that also tracks clicks. So that is what we built Urlzen to do.

The problem is that none of us are designers, so when we launched urlzen.com it was ugly. Really, really ugly. Not anymore!

Tishaun Dawson of Digitalmode fame has created an absolutely beautiful new design for Urlzen.
